You walk out your front door in the morning and find one shoe on the doorstep. The next day you find another completely different shoe. This goes on for a week until finally on the eighth day you find something else entirely."

Okay, there it is. Write about a 500-word essay using this as a prompt. 

 Send to noel56@aol.com using "Writing Prompt for Week of 3/8" in the subject line by Friday morning, 3/15/2019. 

 All essays will be posted on Friday evening.

A few years ago I started what I hoped to be an online writing group. I had just returned from a Travel Writer's and Photography Conference in San Francisco and was chock full of ideas. After much angst about what I should call the group, I settled upon "Scrappy Scribers".  The concept was this; once per week I would email a writing prompt to whomever was interested, this person would  write about 500 words based on the prompt and then send me their completed essay. At the end of the week, all essays received would be compiled into one document and emailed to the group.  Each person was allowed to select a pen name and write under that name if they chose. This was not required.
